WeatherBeeta Blanket Features:
Polyfill
Polyfill’s warmth is measured in grams of synthetic insulation per square metre. The higher the grams, the more fill per metre, the warmer the horse! WeatherBeeta Rugs/Blankets are available in a variety of fills to suit the season, location (geographic, paddock, stable, indoor, outdoor) and your horse's needs. Available in lightweight Rug/Sheet without any fill at all for warmer climates and mild Spring and Autumn weather conditions.
Denier Shield
A fabric's Denier rating relates to the weight of the yarn in the fabric – the higher then denier, the heavier and tougher the fabric.
Detach-a-Neck
The versatile Detach-a-Neck delivers more versatile protection for your horse - Whatever the Weather! You now have the freedom to attach the Neck for colder days and take it off when the weather is milder.
Waterproof
WeatherBeeta Blankets have an outer fabric that is 100% waterproof. The high specification of waterproofing ensures durability over a longer period. Fabric waterproofing is measured under laboratory conditions by an independent testing agency.
Breathable
Breathability is the ability of a fabric to allow sweat and excess moisture to pass through it to the outside air. WeatherBeeta Blankets are made up of a coating on the inside of the fabric that draws excess sweat and moisture to it. Temperature differences between the air inside and outside the Blanket then force moisture outwards meaning that your horse stays dry and comfortable, rather than clammy and chilled.
Taped Seams
WeatherBeeta Blankets feature fully taped seams, adding a physical barrier to the seam and guaranteeing that moisture is kept out. Occasionally, in extreme weather conditions and heavy downpours, the sewn in areas of the Blanket, such as the surcingles, tail flap etc. (which cannot be Seam Taped), may allow a small amount of water penetration through the stitch holes. This problem is commonly found on all Turnout/Paddock Blankets and is not unique to WeatherBeeta.
Repel Shell
A number of our WeatherBeeta Blankets feature Repel Shell (see specific products). This coating helps repel dirt and water while maintaining optimum breathable and waterproof qualities of the fabric.
Wick Easy
Dry & Cool
Wick Easy is an innovative lining that wicks away moisture to provide total dry comfort without the chill. The more breathable polar fleece lining features a "hydrophilic" (water loving) quality that combines with body temperature to draw away and evaporate excess sweat and moisture through the breathable fabric.
RipStop
Ripstop describes a method of modifying the warp and weft of a fabric to enable it to contain any rips or tears. WeatherBeeta fabrics feature hundreds of small squares that give it its distinctive "checkerboard" look. In the event of a rip, small squares contain the rip and stop it from spreading along the length of the fabric.
